A single parchment sheet, a certificate of non-distraint (inability to seize property for non-payment) for the
first payment of the subsidy granted 15 May 1571.
The collectors certify they have been unable to collect the assessed sums from those named in the document,
or to distrain goods to the relevant value.
The document is dated 18 December, probably 13 Elizabeth I (1571), but the regnal year is now illegible.
The names of a few St Olave parishioners are legible, but the bottom portion,
containing St Saviour names, is largely illegible.
