Return to Subsidy List

A parchment roll of two membranes, dated 20 May 1642.  A certificate of assessment associated with the parliamentary grant of £400,000 to the king to settle debts and cover the costs of warfare.  The levy includes only the liberties of the Clink and Paris Garden.  The text is modernised except for surnames which are spelled literatim.
