| At each vestry meeting the clerk usually listed the names of those members and others present at the meeting in an official capacity (not those called to appear before the vestry). Sometimes the clerk simply copied, in advance, all the names from an earlier list, then noted some members as 'sick' or 'absent'. Many names in the source document for these lists consist of the title 'Mr' followed by a surname. Where possible we have supplied the missing forenames, marked with an asterisk. |
